With over three decades in the community and extensive experience in both the military and private sectors, Ley emphasized his commitment to addressing critical local issues. His main focus areas include the Interstate Bridge Replacement project, reducing traffic congestion, giving parents more control over education, and enhancing community safety. Ley aims to bring common sense to Olympia, representing the people’s concerns and championing citizen initiatives on the upcoming ballot.

Thank you. John Ley. I am a three-decade plus Clark County resident. I served in the Air Force for 11.5 years. Got out, went to the private sector. Served 31.5 years with Delta Airlines. Was invited to retire by the FAA when you turn 65. Got a job as a reporter for an online newspaper for a couple of years.
In the past decade and a half, I’ve gotten involved in Clark County politics, via the Columbia River Crossing. Initially about 2010, and then been more and more involved in many local issues ever since. I’m running to represent the people of Clark County, and specifically the 18th district. My signature issue, if you will, is the Interstate Bridge Replacement project, tolling, light rail.
And overall, a much more affordable project that actually solves transportation problems, which means saving people time and reducing traffic congestion. I also want to bring common sense to Olympia. That means being a voice for the people, expressing their concerns to the legislature, and then sharing with the people what the legislature is and isn’t doing on that.
And that means trying to give parents more control over their children’s education. Trying to get government off of people’s backs, trying to make our communities safer by allowing the police to do their jobs, and most recently, supporting all seven citizen initiatives that are, four of which are going to be on the November ballot. I think the people have spoken loudly, and I look forward to championing those four remaining initiatives.
