Lars Larson suspects “a little bit of fraud” related to TriMet paying $4-5 million per light rail vehicle, yet demanding up to $15 million per vehicle for the Interstate Bridge Replacement. The are also demanding 19 new light rail vehicles for a 1.83 mile extension of an existing MAX light rail line.

Charlotte, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Seattle, and Sacramento all paid less than $5 million per light rail vehicle.
